Camille Roth + Momentous
Join us for an evening at Sound Art Lab with experimental sound performances from students of electronic composition at the Royal Academy of Music Aalborg and a presentation of Camille Roth’s work-in progress sound installation: ‘One end’.
An evening of experimental performances from students of the electronic sound and music department at the Royal Academy of Music Aalborg, where they showcase the culmination of their creative journey during a residency at Sound Art Lab. Throughout the residency, these Bachelor first-year students – Jarl Kaad, Henrique Lopes, Luca Manczuk, Mads Martinussen, Christian Ernst Empleo Thomsen, and Dániel Varga – have delved into the conceptual and sonic potential of materials to shape their compositions.
This evening Camille Roth will present a work-in progress version of her piece ‘One end’, a sound installation in two rooms, that she is developing during her residency here at Sound Art Lab.
The sound installation is inspired by an idea of connections over distances: the spatial interval between people, and the way that we through sound, can construct imagined connections to other places. A sounding figure – a sensuous and spatial presence – begins in one room, and ends in another. As a three-dimensional sculpture, where you have to physically move around it, in order to experience it in its entirety, here you also have to move around it, to hear it from both ends.
Place: Sound Art Lab, Peter Bangs Vej 17B, 7600 Struer
Time: March 14, 2024, 19:00-21:30
The event is free and everybody is welcome!
