Open Studio: Aksel Striim
Come and listen as the wind harps sing over Struer on Sunday, 30 November!
Experience multi-instrumentalist and composer Aksel Striim’s work with wind harps and spatial soundscapes.
On the rooftop terrace of Sound Art Lab, Aksel has installed three wind harps. Their tones have been recorded and transformed into a quadrophonic presentation in the sound studio, where the sound unfolds into a sensuous, immersive space.
These spatial soundscapes have formed the basis for improvisation with cello, voice, and wind instruments such as overtone flutes, clarinet, shawm, and bone flute. For this presentation, Aksel has invited Katrine Faber (singer, actor, performer, etc.) to step into these magical sonic spaces and let herself be inspired.
We begin on the rooftop terrace – hoping for a favorable wind from the weather gods. Afterwards, we move into the sound studio to experience a living dialogue between the recorded soundscapes and live performance. Finally, Aksel will talk about his work with wind harps, wind, and resonance.
Time: Sunday, 30 November at 14:00
Place: Sound Art Lab, Peter Bangs Vej 17B, 7600 Struer
As usual the event is free and everyone is welcome.
We look forward to welcoming you!
