Lydspor

1 Jan 2021–31 Dec 2024

The project Lydspor provides a creative space for youth education that engages with art. It is currently being tested in schools across multiple municipalities including Struer, Holstebro, Herning, Ikast-Brande, Lemvig, Ringkjøbing-Skjern, Skive, and Varde.

Building on the success of a pilot project, the final project was developed in collaboration with the artist group Resonating Rooms who works with students to help them express themselves creatively through sound art works.

With Lydspor we encourage students to explore the creative process as they develop their ideas into sound art.

“Art and culture play a crucial role in the formation of our children and young people. We are therefore incredibly proud and happy that the Ministry of Culture, through the recently approved culture agreement, has decided to support our initiative, where we, through sound art must help to strengthen students’ both academic and educational development. The competencies that children and young people learn through creative activities are of crucial importance for the children’s future development, because it gives them the desire to learn.” – Lars Møller Pedersen, Chairman of the Culture- and Leisure Committee in Struer Municipality

The Danish Ministry of Culture has provided DKK 800,000 in support of Lydspor through Kulturaftalen 2021-2024.

Lydspor is a collaborative effort between Sound Art Lab, SMK Thy, Deep Forest Art Land, Kunsthal Regelbau 411, and Lydlaboratoriet – Struer’s learning initiative for sound in pubic schools.
